Kendall

I'm so happy it is summer time and I am able to spend some quality time with my kiddos! Kendall has been so much to get to know as her personality as it pops out.
Kendall has been crawling for about a month now and can get from point A to point B real quick! I'm not sure how long she will be crawling. Every chance she gets she is pulling herself up and attempting to stand. With a little help from myself or Dad, she is taking a couple of steps. She loves watching her brother and when he sees him race by, I can see those wheels turning in her mind..."how can I do that? How can I keep up with him?" Kendall still has just 2 teeth; both on the bottom. We are so ready for her to get some more teeth so she can chow down on real food. She is VERY interested in whatever we eat, but I'm hesitant to give it to her without any chompers. And Kendall LOVES to eat!!! Right now Kendall wakes up at about 8:00 and has a 7 oz bottle. Sometimes she has some cheerios or puffs as a snack to get her through until lunch. Around 10:00 she goes back down for a two hour nap. When she gets up, she is ready for lunch which consists of cereal, 3 cubes of fruit and 3 cubes of veggies. Usually she has some cheese, lunch meat, cheese puffs or something like that to finish up her lunch. Then at 2:00 she goes down again for another 2 hour nap. At 5:00 is dinner with the same as what she had for lunch and by 6:30/7:00 she is lights out and done for the night. So, yeah...she is awake for like 6 hours a day. JEALOUS!
She really doesn't have a favorite toy right now. She just likes to be around Parker and play with whatever he is playing with - usually cars or dinosaurs.
Last night we enjoyed some sprinkler time; she wasn't quite sure about that.

Memorial Day

First, I have to share my first morning of summer vacation. How else could a mom want to start her day?

Now Memorial Day...we had a nice relaxing day and then had some family join us for a cookout that night.

What did kids do before smart phones?

Parker's First Tee Ball Game

Parker is playing coed tee ball at the YMCA this summer. His best buddy Caden is on the team as well. They had one practice to get to know the kids names and abilities before their first game last week. There are about 7 boys and 2 girls on the team all with very different ability levels. Parker, Caden and one other boy on the team are ALL about the baseball game. They seem to know what is going on, hit the ball really well and throw pretty good too.
At the games, they have both teams warm up on the infield and then the umpires have the home team go hit off some tees in the outfield while the other team does some drills on the infield. Then after about 15 minutes they switch. Then the last half hour they have a little scrimmage where everyone gets to hit and run the bases. It is so cute to watch all the kids! At times the game of baseball looks more like tackle football with all the kids trying to get the ball.
Parker does a great job of hitting the ball and running the bases. He is so quick!

Parker is in the bottom of the pile (fighting for the ball), but I love the kid's expression in the top left of the picture!

May

Parker is such a good big brother. He loves to play with Kendall and show her about his toys. I think right now Kendall thinks "toys" are cars and dinosaurs. Poor girl!

Reading Kendall's mind "what the heck is this?"

Crazy Hair!

Mother's Day

We had an awesome Mother's Day at OJ Watson Park. After a picnic we rode the paddle boats.

Kendall's Growing Up!

I got the opportunity to take the kids to the park the other day. It is fun to see Kendall experience new things. She really enjoyed swinging and the sand.

I hope that Parker and Kendall always play so well together. She SO looks up to her big brother and Parker loves making his sister laugh. He would do anything to please her. She is crawling all over right now, but every time I get the camera out she has no desire to do it. Darn it; why do kids do that?

Our fat dog Reagan LOVES pancakes! We always have pancakes on Sunday morning before church. Reagan knows when it is Sunday morning before we even get out of bed. She lays beside the bed moaning until we get up and start the pancakes. I always make 2 "baby" pancakes - one for Parker and one for Reagan (before I know it I will be making 3 of those). Reagan can't wait! Silly dog!

Family Fitness Night

Last Monday night the school sponsored Family Fitness Night where the student athletes at the high schools work/play with kids in the district. It is a great evening for kids to burn some energy...they should have this EVERY night! Parker had a blast and Kendall is dying to get out there arnd participate.
